Netflix has provided us with an abundance of K-drama series to pique our interest. The streaming powerhouse has now confirmed that Black Knight, its most recent offering, is currently in production. Black Knight is directed by Cho Ui-seok and stars a huge cast. It is about a group of delivery riders who work in a dangerous world. Kim woo-bin, Kang you-seok, and E Som are in charge of the new series. Following their critically acclaimed film Master, Cho and Kim woo-bin reunite in this brand-new Netflix series.
The world depicted in Netflix's Black Knight in 2071 is polluted, and people must wear respirator masks to breathe. In the deserted areas of the Korean Peninsula, where only one percent of the human race has survived, strict social stratification has been established.
This system relies heavily on delivery drivers, and for refugees, working as a driver is their only chance of survival. Black Knight tells the story of Sawol, a refugee who longs to follow in the footsteps of a legendary delivery driver aged 5-8 with exceptional combat skills in the midst of such chaos.
Black Knight is based on a WEBTOON
Black Knight, like most K-dramas, is based on a WEBTOON with the same name that won the E-IP Award at the Asian Film Market. The novel's original premise, in which delivery drivers are reimagined as a unique group tasked with ensuring humanity's continued existence, attracted attention.
The production of this story into an action-packed series is led by Director Cho. His previous works, which include Master, Cold Eyes, and The World of Silence, suggest that Netflix has chosen the right person to direct its new series. After all, Cho has demonstrated an ability to effectively tell stories, sequence events, and produce stylish cinematography.
