In its third weekend, Sony's "Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse" swung into second place, adding £2.6 million to its total, which now stands at £20.3 million. Disney's enchanting tale, "The Little Mermaid," secured the third position in its fourth weekend, earning an additional £1.3 million and bringing its total to a splashy £22 million.

On June 22 and 24, Trafalgar Releasing will bring the annual event "Grateful Dead Meet-Up at the Movies" to audiences for two nights only. This year's screening is a concert film capturing the Grateful Dead's return to the summer stadium circuit, following Brent Mydland's passing, as they performed at Chicago's Soldier Field with two keyboard players filling the void.

Additionally, Netflix will give the animated feature "Nimona," featuring Riz Ahmed, Chloë Grace Moretz, and RuPaul as voice talents, a limited theatrical release before it streams on the platform. Dogwoof is launching the Tour de France-themed documentary "The Last Rider," and Kova will premiere the spiritual awakening drama "Jesus Revolution."

"The Flash" Review: A Delightfully Irreverent Superhero Film

"The Flash" brings a refreshing dose of irreverence to the DC universe, with Ezra Miller delivering a turbo-charged performance as the time-traveling superhero. This film not only showcases the Flash's quirky personality but also introduces an underused Supergirl and the much-anticipated return of Michael Keaton's Batman.

The movie exudes a playful energy and humor that sets it apart from its predecessors. By focusing on the Flash, a juvenile and socially awkward member of the Justice League, the film injects a much-needed irreverence into the series. While the special effects may not be as polished as one might expect from a big-budget production, they are still serviceable and add to the overall charm of the movie. "The Flash" joins the ever-growing list of superhero films that explore multiverses and parallel realities, though it treads familiar ground covered by the recent and superior Spiderverse film.

In this story, Barry Allen, played by Ezra Miller, discovers his ability to run so fast that he can travel through time (albeit with unconvincing science). Still haunted by the loss of his mother during his childhood, Barry decides to go back in time to save her. However, this act inadvertently creates an alternate timeline, introducing another version of Barry Allen who is an impulsive and immature fool. As if that weren't enough, Barry also encounters a different Batman, portrayed by Michael Keaton, and instead of Superman, the audience is introduced to the underused Supergirl, played by Sasha Calle. The film moves swiftly, maintaining a brisk pace and providing a largely enjoyable experience.

"The Flash" may not reach the same heights as its superior Spiderverse counterpart, but it successfully delivers a fun and entertaining superhero adventure. With its lively energy, witty humor, and a talented cast, including the charismatic Ezra Miller, the film offers an enjoyable and irreverent take on the DC universe. Fans of the Flash and superhero enthusiasts alike will appreciate this delightful addition to the genre.
