Woman Tired of Dating Apps Takes to the Streets with a Cardboard 'Looking for a Husband' Sign

Navigating the world of dating apps can often feel like a rollercoaster ride - a mix of excitement, disappointment, and sometimes sheer frustration. For Karolina Getis, it was leaning towards the latter, and she decided it was time to take a break from swiping left and right, opting instead for a more old-fashioned approach.

At 29 years old, Karolina had spent enough time on dating apps without finding her prince charming. So, she took a bold step, creating a cardboard sign that read, 'Looking for a Husband,' and embarked on a unique journey through the bustling streets of New York City, hoping for better luck than she'd had on her phone.

Incredibly, her unconventional approach yielded positive results.

Karolina shared her experience, saying, "These outings give me so much energy, and people's reactions are always positive - I love doing it. I do it to step out of my comfort zone. People on the street were in shock but also supportive, saying, 'Go, girl, find your husband.'"

What makes this adventure even more entertaining is that, while holding the sign, Karolina couldn't see the reactions of passersby until her videographer captured their responses. These spontaneous and often humorous reactions added an extra layer of excitement to her quest.

And it wasn't all for naught. One gentleman she encountered saw her sign, approached her, and struck up a conversation. As of now, they're in touch and chatting, with the future holding potential for something more. Karolina reflected, "At the moment, we are just talking."

This creative endeavor wasn't Karolina's first foray into using cardboard signs to achieve her goals. Previously, she took a similar approach for a rather niche cause: filling up her closet. She crafted a sign that humorously stated she 'needed money for Chanel.' While this might seem audacious, especially considering economic challenges, people surprisingly embraced the idea.

Karolina shared her experience with the Chanel sign, saying, "That was my favorite one. We went outside the Chanel store, and this guy came up to me, ready to contribute money for it. Some people actually came and gave me money for it."

This fun and unconventional approach to achieving personal goals have taught Karolina a valuable lesson: "If you ask correctly, everything will come to you, and if you need something, just make a sign." She plans to use the funds collected to save up for luxury items like Chanel and a Birkin bag.

In a world dominated by technology and dating apps, Karolina Getis chose to break free from the digital confines and seek her dreams in a way that captured the hearts and curiosity of those she encountered on the vibrant streets of New York City. Her story reminds us that sometimes, the path less traveled can lead to the most unexpected and delightful surprises.
